Mint Museum – Activities for Families

Charlotte is home to two Mint Museum locations. One on Randolph (2730 Randolph Rd, Charlotte, NC 28207) and one in Uptown Charlotte (500 S Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28202). Each location offers awesome opportunities to learn and immerse your family in Art.

The Lewis Family Gallery

The has an awesome hands-on children’s exhibit, the Lewis Family Gallery. This awesome area provides a space for children to learn, create, and explore art. They also have a cute little house to play in and explore. This would be a great place to bring your children or Nanny Kids to learn about art. They are open Wednesday – 5 – 8 pm, Saturday 11 am – 4 pm, and Sunday 1 – 5 pm.

Wild Wednesdays

Select Wednesdays throughout the summer, the has a children¡¯s program where children can participate in nature-themed art experiences, meet an animal from Stevens Creek Nature Center, and go on a self-guided museum scavenger hunt.?Check the calendar link below for Wild Wednesday details.

FREE Art Kits 

The museum offers fun and engaging takeaway art projects for artists of all ages who are inspired by the museum collection. Kits are available at select times during fall and spring.?Check out more details on their .

Drop-In Art at Mint Randolph

  • The Randolph Mint Museum offers times to drip in and do art. Artists of all ages are invited to explore the Art Room for self-directed art, for all ages. Artists can explore drawing, clay, collage, and painting activities. A museum educator will be on hand to introduce you to the art-making stations and provide helpful tips.
