  • Wash your hands: Always practice good hygiene, including frequently washing your hands with soap and water. Hand sanitizer is great, too, if you are not near a sink; however, please remember that hand sanitizer does not kill certain germs like stomach bugs.
  • Exercise: It is important to continue your exercise routine as long as you feel well. This will help boost your immune system and keep you in top shape.
  • Eat Healthy: Maintain a healthy, balanced diet that includes fruits and vegetables to boost your immune system.
  • Take your vitamins: Remember to take your recommended vitamins each day.
  • Avoid touching your face: If you frequently touch your face, you can spread germs and become sick.
  • Manage Stress: Take care of yourself and practice self-care to reduce stress and the risk of feeling run down and getting sick.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink the recommended amount of water each day. According to the Mayo Clinic, that would be about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men and about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women.
  • Stay home when sick: If you feel sick, stay home until you feel better. Ensure you understand your current position¡¯s sick time absence and communication policy and the procedure for notifying your family if you feel sick. Always clearly communicate any sickness affecting your ability to come to work or do your job as soon as possible. Be sure to collaborate with the family to come up with a plan for when to return to work and any other precautions you or the family need to take.
